Chicken, Pork and Beef Market

CHICKEN, PORK AND BEEF MARKET

I went to pork and beef market last week. On the way to that place I saw a truck carry pigs. On my mind, I wondered where those pigs will be taken to. Of course, those pigs will be killed. T-T. 


After I got at the market, the smell of the meats was spreading around the market. The first I went in to the beef market. 


There were more than a hundred ton of beefs hanging with the hooks. There were not only their meat this also including all their internal organ of the cows. Some of them had blooding pouring down from the beef.


The merchants were using knife to cut them into pieces.


"1 cow is about 10,000-30,000 baht and separate into different parts. The profit will be around 5000 baht per each cow," said the beef seller

Next, I went to the chicken market which located near by. Sahafarm Co.,Ltd. is one of the biggest chicken farm and produce chicken product. There produce around 200 tons per day spread all around Thailand.

The last one, I went to the pig market. The first thing I saw after I entered the market is this pig heads. I straightly went closer and ask the merchant. "Why people eat their head?"


I have seen only people eating their legs, but i have never seen people eat their head before.


"They are not eating it. most of them is using for praying process during some ceremony like Chinese New Year," said the merchant.


I saw their face and I totally feel sad.




I started to understand why more and more people start becoming vegetarian and I would like to be one of them.

Practice Vegetarianism....

Practice Vegetarianism

Practice Vegetarianism of this year 2010 is occurred during the month of October 7 until October 17. Many people were participating in this ceremony especially Thai-Chinese people. I would like to interview some of this people, but the ceremony had been ended last month so thought of someone I know who have been participating. I could thought of my grandmother who have been participating or practicing vegetarianism for the the rest of her life.

Khun Somnuek Songthamjitti, my 78-year-old grandmother, has been practicing vegetarianism for 75 years. "There are only 10 days in a year and I feel healthy during that ten days," said Khun Somnuek. She continues, "During this ceremony, lots of animal killer factory will stop killing them due to more than a billion people all around the world stop eating meats. I believe that is one kind of doing such merit because we help animals to have a longer lives."

"I don't feel only merit, but I feel healthy too," said Khun Somnuek.

She stated that she has been doing this every year so now i have done approximately 750 days.

Pig Farm

I have appointed with Danai Posriprasert, the owner of pig farm at Petchburi. He is the biggest pig raising farm in the city.     

"I have 8 different sixes of pigs. The size 8 will be the last size before sell it them to the pork company," siad Khun Danai.

I ask Khun Danai that does he afraid of karma of selling these piggy to the killers.

He said, "I am the one who make them to have birth and also raise and feed them until they are grown. What did I have done bad during my business process?"

I would rather say he is better of doing and raise the pig farm not a pig slaughterhouse. 

  

Cow Farm!

I went to the cow farm at Nakornpatom. The farm has approximately 700 cows. "We only raise the cow not kill the cow; but most of the cows will be brought and killed by the beef company," said Panuwat Kanlayapichet, the owner of the cow farm.

The letter will be printed in the cow with different alphabets in order to recognize them all by using a hot steel and press in the area that can be easily seen.  

Surprisingly, more than 100 cows will be brought twice a month, so the cow will be killed about 200 cows a month. The process is started since the mother cow gives birth to the little cow. Panuwat’s farm raise a cow until it is grown enough and then the beef company will buy those cow from him. The cow will be put in a truck and transfer to the killer factory nearby.

Have you ever heard of this sentence? “You are what you eat.”

Eating big animal meat gives you a hard time digesting because it has very rough meat. The body will takes a long time to digest it out which may cause stomach, intestines and liver has to work hard that will result in ruining your body system.

At the Fish Market, there are more than a hundred store selling more than a hundred species available from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. This market’s goods flow volume is around 500 tons per day.

“I chose to do a business at Talaad Thai because there are many buyers and also they provide good facilities that make me feel comfortable,” said Khun Goong, one of the fish storeowner at Talaad Thai.

I would like to know their opinion of doing this job (killing animals).

“I sell more than 1 ton and kill more than 200 fish per day,” said khun Nut, a staff or employee of the fish store who help the owner carry, pack, or even kill the fish. He explains his belief “I am not afraid of sinfulness because if I am not the one who kill and everyone afraid of sin, nobody are able to eat fish.”

-       To be a sources to provide convenience to producers and traders.

-       For development up to exports of fresh produce and agricultural goods that are processed to overseas.

Time To Get Started!!!!

After I figured out my interesting topic, I would like to mention about the first canon in Buddhist. In Buddhist, the 1^st canon (ศีลข้อ 1) is to avoid killing or assaulting life. (ปาณาติปาตา เวรมณี)

This canon is not only mean to bring a knife to kill someone or life, but it also means minds begin to think badly to kill someone. There are many ways to kill which also mention in this canon. It includes commit suicide; collude in the action, being glad of seeing someone was killed, etc.

I went to Talaad-Thai to see one of the animal killing fields. Fortunately, today (23 Nov.) is believed to be monk day or full moon day. As Buddhism, we believe that today is the day that we pray for our god. I decided to buy fishes, shells and frogs to give a longer life for them. Releasing animal is a merit because animal is in a danger and we help it out from the death

Sometime, our karma can cause paralysis and this may caused by

1. Slaughterhouse.

2. Torture animals.

3. Hurt people in the nation today.

But, our belief would say this karma could be dental solution by

1.Ehgakrnrnamnrieyrn monks dedicated to the public and pattern to be charitable and forgive each other.

2. Releasing animals, the charity dedicated to Ehgakrnrnamnrieyrn received and reconciled.

3. Offering drugs to measure or help the sick.

Meanings of releasing several kinds of animal. 




1. Eel means money work and study will become smoother.

2. Doctor fish means health.

3. Goby means pay for benefactors.

4. Catfish means the enemy opponent to lose

5. Nin fish means enhance the property.

6. Snakehead fish means money is hidden will be found.

7. Tilapia means to do anything smoothly. 


8. Swai fish means money-streamlined.

9. White fish means lucky fish.

10. Professor Fish means to stem a full unit grain. 


11. Nai fish means you will become more leadership.


12. Albino catfish fish means auspicious.

13. Black Rnrhoo fish mean exorcise.

14. Frog means devoted to Ehgakrnrnamnrieyrn

15. Bitter shell means release all the bitterness in life for the more peaceful.

16. Snail means leading the way open and jump over the obstacles.

17. Turtle means a longer life.

I went to the Kuan-im Temple at Krabi, since I got down from the van, I saw a beggar sitting in front of the temple. I told my dad to bring the left over food from our lunch for him and give him some coin. After, I saw him eat like he has been starving for a long time but right after he finish eating he gave the food to the monkey.

I was so surprise of this action because if I were he I would have kept it for my next meal. I asked him for my curiosity and he answered "All these monkeys are my friends and they always stay here with me so I don’t feel lonely." I was so impressed from his answer that came from a beggar who is even handicap.

I went inside the temple and buying candle and incense to pray to Jao-Mae Kuan-Im and I realized that Kuan-Im teaches people not to eat big animal, such as, beef.

So I thought of the festival of Practice vegetarianism during this time (7-17 October 2010).

This festival is cerebrated by Buddhist in Thai and China, which avoid eating meat or eating vegetarian. The thing you have to do in vegetarian festival is prohibit eating meat or assaulting animals. Also, you are prohibited to eat milk butter oil from animal and the food that spicy. Besides, you have prohibited on vegetable that have tang, such as, garlic, onions, etc. The point to eat vegetarian is for health because vegetarian food is the food that in type of healthy food.

If you continue to eat vegetarian food your body will become more balance and you have to eat with merciful mind to animal because you should think that animal have a mind like you and have to mind to scare to die like the human.

This belief says eating vegetarian is one way to skip your karma together with maintain your health. If you eat meat you will kill one life this is mean that you generate karma. It will generate to your body you will have shorten age like you do with animal.

So that if you eat vegetarian your body will grow but you are not necessary to build the karma.

This is a symbol of vegetarian warn the people who practice in time 9 day and 9 nights.

Almost all provinces have a festival of vegetarian to facilities the people who eat vegetarian. Some provinces are having a great festival and remain this good culture. The people who interesting this festival will join like in Phuket, Trang, Krabi, etc. in the hotel Bangkok like royal view resort is mediate on this festival also. They also have vegetarian food serve you all time for the people who eat vegetarian.

So this three became my topic of “Taking Life and Giving Life.”
